About Mum & Co

How Mum & Co came to be, and how we choose to make things now.

Mum & Co is a small, independent business built around the idea that everyday products should feel steady, useful, and well considered. What we make - and how we make it - has changed over time, but the intention has stayed the same: to create things that fit naturally into daily life and can be returned to without much thought.

Our Story

Mum & Co began as a small, handmade business rooted in curiosity, care, and the simple act of making things by hand. Like many small brands, it grew through experimentation. Different styles, different ideas, and a period of learning what worked and what didn’t.

Over time, it became clear that more wasn’t always better.

This version of Mum & Co is a considered one. We’ve stepped back from excess, constant change, and trend-led making, and rebuilt around what lasts: useful pieces, thoughtful materials, and products that fit naturally into everyday life.

Everything we make is produced in small batches, with attention paid to how it will actually be used, not how it might look in a photograph or sound in a description. We’re less interested in creating moments, and more interested in supporting them.

A quieter way of working

Mum & Co is run by a small team, making and packing everything by hand. Over time, we’ve learned that doing less, more deliberately, allows us to make better decisions, better products, and a more sustainable business.

We don’t aim to release constantly or keep up with trends. Instead, we focus on a small, carefully maintained range that we can stand behind properly. That means working at a realistic pace, choosing materials with care, and allowing things to take the time they need.

This approach shapes everything we do – from the products themselves to how and when they return.

Our work is organised around three simple rituals: Citrine, Ember, and Quiet. They aren’t rules to follow or moods to perform, just gentle ways of understanding how different products belong in different parts of the day.

We believe care doesn’t need to be loud, indulgent, or complicated to be meaningful. Often, the most supportive things are the ones that sit quietly in the background, ready when they’re needed.

Mum & Co remains a small operation by choice. We make fewer things, more deliberately, and allow the range to grow slowly. Not everything is available all the time, and that’s intentional.

This is a business built to be sustainable: for the people who use the products, and for the people who make them.

Everything here is made with the intention that it can be returned to, again and again.
